Dan Umbach is a licensed architect, practicing and living in Seattle since 1989, shortly after completing a Bachelor of Architecture degree at Ohio State University.  From 1989 to 2004 Dan worked with several small Seattle firms and gained wide ranging experience in many building types for commercial, institutional and residential clients.  In 2004 he established his own company in order to focus on the type of small residential projects that are becoming so important to the fabric of this rapidly growing region.  Since that time, he has worked in Seattle and many nearby jurisdictions on numerous housing projects including single family homes, townhomes, live/work and mixed use.

Dan’s residential work has included everything from custom high-end residential to housing work for non-profits. In recent years he has specialized in housing projects for local builder/developers  providing quality design services to an industry that requires efficiency and an attention to budget and permitting issues.  In addition, Dan has continued to  work on non-residential projects as well, including dental offices, manufacturing buildings and various small commercial projects.
